ISFAP is a financial aid program that helps students from both poor and working-class backgrounds, as well as those in the "missing middle." The "missing middle" refers to students whose families earn too much to qualify for government aid (NSFAS) but not enough to afford university fees on their own (typically household income between R350,000 and R600,000 per year).
What does ISFAP offer?
- Financial Aid: ISFAP bursaries cover tuition fees, accommodation, food, learning materials, and a monthly living allowance.
- Wrap-around Support: ISFAP goes beyond just finances. They offer wraparound support which includes mentorship, coaching, tutoring, academic and financial guidance, accommodation assistance, and peer-to-peer learning.
