Student Hero Bursary Requirements
There are various student finance providers in South Africa, all having unique qualifying criteria and processes.
Student Hero is South Africa’s largest student finance facilitator that partners with educational institutions and funding providers to help students learn about, apply, and qualify for study funding. This is all done from a single online platform and does not include any costs.
Student Hero Loan, Bursary or Scholarship
The organisation acts as the middleman and aims to help students, parents, or guardians find funding whether it be in the form of a bursary, scholarship or student loan.
Student Hero says that a finance provider will look at mainly two things to determine if an applicant can qualify for finance, the applicant's affordability, and their credit score.
“A funder will want to see that an applicant can afford the monthly finance instalments. Affordability is calculated by deducting your fixed expenses, such as rent, essential living expenses and other credit commitments from your Net income, the surplus has to be more than the finance instalment.”
Students do not have to be registered at an institution before engaging with Student Hero and are encouraged to reach out to Student Hero as soon as possible.
The following certified documentation has to be submitted to Student Hero for your application to be processed and sent to funders for further consideration:
