Unsatisfied with Your Matric Results?

If you’re not happy with your matric results, you have options. The IEB allows candidates to request a re-mark of their exam papers. Applications for re-marks close on 31 January 2025, and the updated results will be released on 1 March 2025.

How Do IEB Exam Re-marks Work?

IEB exam re-marks provide students with an opportunity to have their exam scripts re-evaluated if they believe their results don’t reflect their true performance. This process is designed to ensure fairness by addressing any potential errors during the initial marking.

How to Request a Re-mark

Check the instructions provided with your results for detailed guidelines. Apply directly online through the IEB website. Schools cannot submit applications on behalf of students.

Ensure your application is submitted before the deadline.

Once your request is received, the IEB assigns your papers to experienced examiners for review.

IEB Matric Rewrites

If you’re looking to improve your results further, you can apply for a matric rewrite. The next opportunity for rewrites is in May/June 2025.

Applications will be open from 1 March until 14 March 2025.
