To receive these allowances directly in their bank accounts, TVET College students need to submit their banking details.
Steps to Submit Your Bank Details
- Visit the NSFAS website
- Access the myNSFAS portal: Click on the "myNSFAS portal" section.
- Log in: Use your myNSFAS account username and password.
- Find your bank account details: Navigate to "Profile Information" and then select "bank account details."
- Enter your bank details: Fill in the information for your chosen bank account.
- Submit your information: Click "Save."
NSFAS will verify the submitted details with your bank. Once successful, they will notify you and begin disbursing your allowances.
Types of Allowances for TVET College Students
NSFAS offers several allowances to TVET College students:
- Personal Care Allowance: This helps cover basic living expenses.
- Transport Allowance (if applicable): This allowance is available if you live more than 40km from the college.
- Accommodation Allowance: This helps with housing costs.
NSFAS also covers tuition and registration fees for TVET College students. Students enrolled in distance learning programs only receive tuition and registration fee coverage, along with a yearly personal care allowance.
