The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has opened its online platform for students to apply for accommodation for the 2025 academic year.
NSFAS provides comprehensive bursaries and student loans to deserving learners enrolled in approved courses at universities and TVET colleges. NSFAS Source funding covers tuition and registration fees, as well as several allowances for food, accommodation, and learning materials.
This new portal allows NSFAS-funded students to find and apply for approved accommodation options. The scheme aims to partner with reputable providers to offer safe and suitable housing for students.
Applications for accommodation are now open and will continue until all available spaces are filled. Both students and accommodation providers can register on the platform. Students can use it to search for and apply for housing, while providers can list their properties for consideration by NSFAS-funded students.

Step 1: Log In
Visit the myNSFAS portal and log in using your student credentials.
Step 2: Search for Accommodation
Browse the list of approved student accommodations near your institution.
Step 3: Apply
Choose your preferred accommodation and complete the application form.
Step 4: Confirmation
Receive an email or SMS confirming your accommodation reservation.
Ensuring Suitable Student Accommodation
NSFAS warned that they will re-evaluate all properties to ensure they meet the minimum norms and standards for student housing.
NSFAS will still re-evaluate the accredited properties that were identified not to be meeting the Policy on the Minimum Norms and Standards for Student Housing. Should such properties be found not to be compliant, their accreditation certificates will be revoked.
