The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is in charge of distributing social grants on behalf of the Department of Social Development. SASSA's grants aim to help the vulnerable people in our society and improve the standards of living of those in need of support.
You can apply online for SASSA social grants.
To register for SASSA, the steps are:
- Go to the SASSA website
- Fill out the user registration form
- Add your personal details like your name, surname, ID number etc.
- Add your email address and your phone number (these details need to be up to date and that you have easy access as you will recieve communication from SASSA through them)
- Make a password, to use to sign into your SASSA account.
Once you have registered an online SASSA account you will be able to sign into it and apply for grants.
To apply for SASSA funding you need to be South African a citizen, permanent resident or refugee living in South Africa.
