The eligibility requirements are as follows:
- Grade 12 matric results or mid-year results if you haven't matriculated yet

- Must hold an average pass mark of 70% or higher
- Must provide proof of registration at an Institute of Higher Learning
- ID of parents/guardians
- Parents/guardians proof of income
- Must be from a previously disadvantaged background
In addition, candidates must be younger than 30 years old and provide a 250 word essay that motivates why they deserve the bursary.

The requirements for this bursary are as follows:
- Must be a South African citizen with a valid ID
- If the student is still in matric, they must provide a certified copy of their June results
- Students who have completed matric must provide a certified copy of their final results
- Students must have at least a 60% pass for English, Mathematics and Physical Science
- Students enrolled at tertiary institutions can also apply, and must provide their up-to-date academic records
- Students must provide two testimonials along with their application; one from a community leader (spiritual leader, for example), the second from an educational official (school principal or lecturer).
- Must provide proof of income of both parents/guardians
- Must include an essay of their life, personally written by them, and a letter of recommendation from a parent or friend
South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Bursary
The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) invites students to apply for bursary funding. The bursary funds the following fields of study:

The bursary will be awarded for the first academic year and renewed each year, without having to reapply. However, students will have to submit their final results by the 31st of December each year.

- Must intend on studying full-time towards an undergraduate degree in the above-listed fields
- You must have gained acceptance into a recognized tertiary institution in South Africa
- You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 70% in your matric June exams
