The Limpopo Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism is committed to supporting education and addressing the skills gaps by offering bursaries in the field of studies relevant to the core function of the department.
The bursary scheme is for students who wish to study on a full time basis and priority is given to the following fields of studies:
The Mitchell’s Plain Bursary and Role Model Trust assists with registration and/or tuition fees for studies at tertiary institutions such as the University of Cape Town, University of the Western Cape, University of Stellenbosch, Cape Peninsula University of Technology and Further Education and Training Colleges.
The Trust works closely with all the high schools in Mitchell’s Plain to ensure that motivated, academically performing and financially deserving learners are given an opportunity to pursue their study and career goals.
Priority sectors include:
- Gender Studies
- Human Rights
- Public Policy (especially Infrastructure and Economic policy as well as Trade Policy)
- Security Studies
The Hungarian Government is offering 100 scholarships to South African students to study at participating public university in Hungary. All courses available for South Africans are taught in English, however all Bachelor's and Master's students will be required to pass a course in Hungarian as a foreign language.
Bursaries for the 2020 academic year are open to those permanent residents planning to study full-time at the level of bachelor degrees, national diplomas, certificates, specialised and accredited learning programmes from recognised and accredited higher and further education and training institutions.

SCIENCE, AVIATION, ENGINEERING AND BUILT ENVIRONMENT
The advertisements for the 2020 bursary intake is open until 08 November 2019. No late applications will be considered. The bursaries' opportunities are advertised through the national newspapers and on this website. The departmental recruitment and selection processes apply.
Bursaries are awarded for tertiary studies at accredited and recognised Institutions of Higher Learning. Applicants must comply with the entrance requirements of these universities and colleges, as well as its internal regulations for the duration of their studies.
MUNICIPAL BURSARY PROGRAMME 2020 (In collaboration with Provincial Treasury)
(R 40 000 per student per annum)
Applications are invited from students who are currently studying at tetiary institution, as well as learners that are currently in Grade 12, or have passed Grade 12 for financial assistance towards further studies for the 2020 academic.
The award is limited to full-time studies at an accredited tertiary institution.
Students must reside within the Greater Oudtshoorn Municipality including the rural areas.
