Oppenheimer Memorial Trust (OMT) 2021

The Oppenheimer Memorial Trust (OMT) awards a limited number of scholarships annually. These scholarships are for postgraduate study at public Higher Education Institutions in South Africa at Master’s, Doctoral and Postdoctoral level.

South African citizens or permanent residents may apply for Masters and Doctoral programmes. Foreign nationals may only apply for Postdoctoral programmes.

Closing date: 31 October 2021

NAWA Post Doctoral Research Fellowships 2021

The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) is offering an exciting programme to promising scientists.

If you are interested in applylying, you will need to:

  1. Hold at least a doctoral degree
  2. Visit Poland for 6 to 24 months in order to strengthen the scientific potential of Polish entities
  3. Participate in their scientific activities, primarily research projects and didactics. 

Closing date: 15 June 2021

McDonald Fellowships 2021

The McDonald Fellowship enables early career multiple sclerosis researchers from low- and middle-income countries to work in a research institution outside of their own country. Applications for 2021 are now open for qualifying applicants.

Due to travel restrictions the fellowship is considering alternative ways to carry out research projects.

A project may be:

A) in a research institute/hospital abroad if travel permits (as in previous years)

Pharmaceutical Society Of South Africa Bursary 2021

The Pharmaceutical Society Of South Africa (PSSA) is offering bursaries to full-time pharmacy students. Only students registered with a School/Department/Faculty of Pharmacy will be considered.

Students who apply for this bursary must be postgraduate students with a PSSA membership.

The PSSA membership is currently is free. In order to apply for this membership, applicants must send an email to [email protected] for an application form.

Closing date: 30 April 2021

National Arts Council Of South Africa Bursary 2021

The National Arts Council of South Africa (NAC) was established in 1997 with the aim of promoting the free expression of cultures in South Africa, through arts.

The NAC is currently offering 2 types of bursaries:

1) Block Institutional bursaries – These are for Undergraduate studies These bursaries must be applied for by Institutional heads of department, for their undergraduate students. Students may not directly apply for these.

SAAWG National Fellowship Application Form 2020

All applications must be made on the SAAWG National Fellowship Awards Application Form 2020.

Application forms may be downloaded by clicking on the link provided below.

All applications and accompanying documentation must be submitted between 1 January 2020 and the deadline 25 March 2020.

An awardee will be required to sign acceptance that her name,university, degree or diploma and year, name of award and amount will be published in the SAAWG Annual Journal and on the SAAWG website.
