The National Arts Council of South Africa (NAC) was established in 1997 with the aim of promoting the free expression of cultures in South Africa, through arts.
The NAC is currently offering 2 types of bursaries:
1) Block Institutional bursaries – These are for Undergraduate studies These bursaries must be applied for by Institutional heads of department, for their undergraduate students. Students may not directly apply for these.
The Canon Collins Scholarship aims to support exceptional individuals who are committed to social justice in Southern Africa. This scholarship is for those who will be pursuing a postgraduate qualification in the year 2022.

An awardee will be required to sign acceptance that her name,university, degree or diploma and year, name of award and amount will be published in the SAAWG Annual Journal and on the SAAWG website.
