Each year we select a handful of talented top performers and provide with financial support enabling them to complete their education and potentially pursuing a career with us on qualifying. Who we look for You are achieving a minimum average of 75% and wanting to take the first step towards the future you want?

Every year, ABSA awards bursaries to a handful of deserving students who are currently pursuing their tertiary studies.

Bursaries are awarded within fields relating to sector in which the company operates, in particular the following fields:

  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology (IT)
  • Statistics
  • Risk Management
  • Mathematics
  • Industrial Engineering

 

Candidate Requirements: 

  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric
  • Studying within one of the aforementioned fields of study (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent)
  • Studying at a recognised University in South Africa
  • Achieved a minimum overall average of 75%

Conditions of Bursary: 

The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: registration fees, tuition fees, university accommodation (or university accredited accommodation), textbook allowance, meal allowance, transport allowance and a laptop.

Students will also have access to a wide range of counselling services, the buddy system, workplace exposure via structured vacation work and soft skills training for integration into the working world.

University tuition fees, Registration fees, Exam fees, University accommodation, Residence meals, and Book and pocket money
