The call for applications for admission to undergraduate programmes at the Lingnan University in Hong Kong, China is now open for the 2022-23 academic year.

Lingnan University is offering various scholarships to support high-calibre students to pursue undergraduate studies in Arts, Business Administration and Social Sciences.

The Scholarships are offered on an annual basis and are renewable based on outstanding academic performance throughout the duration of the study.

Please note:

  -    Successful candidates are advised to make financial provision for expenses which are not covered by the scholarship (i.e. return flights, graduation deposit (~R1175) , hostel deposit (~R977)).

     -    The cost of living in Hong Kong for students is between 500 USD and 750 USD (~ R7600 and R11 500) per month.

     -    Full-tuition scholarships, half-tuition scholarships, and half scholarships are also available.

 Who can apply?

       -   Must have a National Senior Certificate;

      -   Must have an excellent academic record;

      -   Must have a good track record in community services;

      -   Must have fulfilled the General Admission Requirements and English Language Requirements for admission to the University.

How to Apply

  • Applicants must apply online through the online application system by 17 May 2022 (Early Round application closes on 7 December 2021).
  • Please select "Undergraduate Programmes (Direct Admission) Government-funded" in the "Application Type" section
  • Applicants can apply for a maximum of three choices of UGC-funded undergraduate programmes in ONE application account.
  • Applicants who wish to be considered for the scholarship may submit such an application along with their application for admission by completing the section of “Non-local Student Scholarships” in the Online Admission System if they are eligible. Scholarship applicants are not required to submit a separate scholarship application.
  • The Scholarship will be awarded subject to availability; successful applicants in Early Round will be notified from January 2022. It is recommended that applicants submit their applications as early as possible.


 The application period for admission is from 28 September 2021 to 17 May 2022 (Early Round application closes on 7 December 2021).
