Bursary Details

This programme is specifically designed to provide educational funding and empowerment to deserving Grade 12 learners, including the children of employees.

They believe in the power of education to shape a brighter future, not just for individuals but also for our communities, the environment, and society as a whole. By offering these bursaries, we aim to support talented young individuals who excel academically and aspire to pursue undergraduate studies in agriculture or related fields.

The Westfalia Education Bursary programme covers various disciplines, including Agricultural Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Horticulture, Food Science, and more. Additionally, they have expanded the programme to consider students from local communities who wish to study fields that bring communal benefits, such as medicine, nursing, and teaching.

Priority will be given to candidates from the communities where Westfalia operates, ensuring that we uplift and support those closest to them.

Candidate Requirements

South African citizenship with a valid ID
Currently in Grade 12 or have recently graduated from Grade 12
Pre-approval from an Institute of Higher Learning
Demonstrated financial need
Outstanding academic record
Willingness to study full-time

Conditions of Bursary

Bursary Obligations

After completion of studies, a student is compelled to serve the number of year's equivalent to years of sponsorship
Refund of Bursary Payments
Failure to comply with the provisions of the bursary agreement will result in the Bursary having to refund immediately all amounts (plus interest) paid by the Department.

How to Apply

To apply, candidates need to fill out the application form and submit it, along with the required supporting documents, including a certified ID copy, mid-term or Grade 12 results, proof of acceptance or pre-approval letter from an institution of higher learning, and proof of residence.
