IT Varsity #AppHustle Bursary 2021

The #AppHustle competition is a joint project brought to you by IT varsity and Youth Capital. Through the #AppHustle competition, you could stand a chance to win a R25 000 bursary. 

The aim of the bursary is to launch one person into a lucrative career in App Development and Web Design.

The bursary will cover:

  • Study fees
  • Study content
  • Assessment fees.

Closing date: 7 June 2021

Candidate Requirements: 

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Aged between 18 and 28 years old
  • Must have completed matric
  • Must be unemployed
  • Must not be studying at another institute
  • Must have access to a computer and fast internet (see specs under “Will I Need a Computer”)
  • Be hardworking and determined to succeed
  • Be able to commit to at least 16 hours to studying


Conditions of Bursary: 

  • The bursary does not cover stipends, travel or data expenses.

  • You will have to commit at least 16 hours per week to your studies.

Latest Bursaries

Flywire aims to award a total of seven scholarships of $5,000 USD each. These scholarships will be awarded across different themes.

Jakes Gerwel Fellowship is a full university scholarship that provides extensive mentoring and leadership development for graduate students with a passion for teaching and education.

The Old Mutual Education Trust (OMET) applications are open to all participating union members and their dependents. The funding from this scholarship will allow for the pursuit of any tertiary qualification at one of South Africa’s public higher education institutions.

The Oppenheimer Memorial Trust (OMT) awards a limited number of scholarships annually. These scholarships are for postgraduate study at public Higher Education Institutions in South Africa at Master’s, Doctoral and Postdoctoral level.
