It is very important to upload all the supporting documents needed before NSFAS can approve your application for funding. Below are some details on how you can upload these documents.
NSFAS funding will fund your university or college fees as well as your accommodation, textbooks and your living expenses. Before you receive this funding, NSFAS needs to have your supporting documents to make the decision regarding your funding. This is because NSFAS staff have rules to follow and are not allowed to distribute money unless all the necessary documents have been submitted and approved. To ensure you receive the NSFAS money you are entitled to, make sure you submit all the documents needed.
Go to my.nsfas.org.za and log in using your details. One of the options you will receive is one to upload outstanding supporting documents. Once you have done this, click on the tab 'Submit Documents'. Once you have successfully uploaded all your documents and the process is complete, you will receive a notification saying 'Outstanding application documents submitted successfully uploaded'.
If you uploaded documents and there seems to be an issue, the most common problem is that the photos of the documents are not clear. If you have a problem taking photos with your cellphone you can go to an NYDA office (since the NSFAS offices are closed during lockdown). If there is not an office near you, and you can ask the fees office of the college or varsity that you have applied to, to help you.
