If your NSFAS application status says 'Outstanding Declaration Form', and you are not sure what it means, then keep reading as we'll explain what the 'Outstanding Declaration Form' status means.

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) offers bursaries to students who come from poor or working-class backgrounds that are interested in studying at a University or TVET college.

NSFAS have stated in a tweet:

If you indicated that you have a legal guardian, you need to provide them with the “court-appointed legal guardianship” document or submit a Non-SASSA declaration form signed by a social worker.

The form is available and can be downloaded from the NSFAS website

NSFAS will need to gain access to personal information from agencies regarding the employment status and income level of the parents or guardians of the applicant.

The NSFAS portal is constantly updated, so NSFAS applicants are urged to log into their myNSFAS account and check their application status on a regular basis.

Here's how to track your NSFAS application:

Step 1:

Visit the NSFAS website.

Step 2:

Click on MyNSFAS account and login using your ID and the password you created when setting up your profile.

You will then be able to track your application.
