Nursing is one of the most significant careers in the world today, especially during this time of a global pandemic of Covid-19.  In addition to this, nurses have a broad and far-reaching role and the main purpose is to provide passionate and quality healthcare service to their patients.

In order to become a certified nurse, students first need to do a nursing course. Then, they have to get certified.

NSFAS administers bursaries to those studying or wishing to study at one of South Africa's 26 public Universities or 50 public TVET Colleges. This means that should you be pursuing a Nursing qualification at one of those institutions, you will be covered.

There are also various external bursaries available for those wanting to study nursing, some even from government. Government also offers nursing traineeships.

South Africa has a variety of nursing colleges for those interested in the field with some offering student accommodation as well.
