Who Can Apply?

To qualify for the Old Mutual Actuarial Science Bursary, applicants must meet the following requirements:

General Requirements:

- South African citizenship
- Minimum 80% in Mathematics
- At least 60% in English Home Language or 70% in English First Additional Language
- Minimum 70% average in other subjects

University Requirements:

Applicants must have applied to or be studying Actuarial Science at one of the following universities:

- North-West University
- Stellenbosch University
- University of Cape Town
- University of Pretoria
- University of the Free State
- University of the Witwatersrand
- University of Johannesburg
- University of KwaZulu-Natal

Candidates must also be committed to qualifying as an actuary and working for Old Mutual after completing their studies.

How To Apply

Applications must be submitted online via the Old Mutual careers portal. Applicants are required to:

- Download and complete the bursary motivation form
- Submit an online application
- Complete a gamified assessment (not timed)
- Upload a one-page CV

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete psychometric assessments, followed by a virtual interview for final selection.
