Capitec bank’s Credit-for-Education has proven a useful alternative student loan option for students who need it. However, the loan option only works for a select set of institutions, and therefore has a number of different means of application according to the different partner institutions.

Capitec bank’s Credit-for-Education option functions in the same way that a student loan from any other bank in South Africa would function. The difference, however, is that this loan option caters specifically to students who wish to apply to a set list of institutions that have partnered with Capitec to make this loan available.

Each tertiary institution has their own process through which to apply, but they all direct the student to a page where they can get an estimate for their loan as a means to see if the student qualifies for application. The following are the different institutions and the steps to follow for application to each of them:

  • Stadio - If you would like to apply for a loan through this institution, click here. This link will lead to the Stadio loan application page. The student will be able to see the conditions of the loan option, and then navigate to the ‘Apply Now’ function. That function will redirect the student to the official Capitec page for applications, where the student would have to click the ‘Get estimate’ function. Thereafter, they will have to follow the prompts, such as sharing their personal information and so on, which will help the student choose a suitable credit option and measure whether or not they qualify for the loan.
  • Milpark Education - If you would like to apply for a loan through this institution, click here. Once at the official Milpark page, click the ‘Apply Now’ tab to apply to receive an estimate.
  • AFDA - If you would like to apply for a loan through this institution, click here. Clicking here will redirect you  to the AFDA study loans and bursaries page. Under the ‘Student loans’ heading, the student will find a plus sign next to the ‘Capitec Study Loans’ heading that they should click. Once clicked, a list of information about the loan shall be revealed, with an ‘Apply now’ option visible in the text that the student can click to receive an estimate for their application and complete the process of application.
  • Boston City Campus - If you would like to apply for a loan through this institution, click here. The student will be navigated to the Boston City Campus ‘Paying for your studies’ home page, where they will find an ‘Apply Now’ option to click, and be directed to get a loan estimate as part of their application.
  • Stellenbosch University - If you would like to apply for a loan through this institution, click here. The student will be navigated to a Stellenbosch page that specifies the components of the loan option. The student will find a link to apply for an estimate at the end of the page.
  • University of Stellenbosch Business School - If you would like to apply for a loan through this institution, click here. The student will again be navigated to a Stellenbosch Business School page that specifies the components of the loan option. A large ‘Apply Now’ link will appear, that the student would be able to use to apply for an estimate.
  • Johannesburg Business School - If you would like to apply for a loan through this institution, click here. The student will be redirected to the school’s financial aid page. Under the section regarding the Capitec credit-for-education, the student will have to click, ‘More information’, where they will be directed to a page detailing the functions of the loan option. On this page, they will be able to click the ‘Apply Now’ function highlighted in orange.
  • Henley Business school - If you would like to apply for a loan through this institution, click here. On the school’s funding page, there will be an option to apply for both a Capitec and Standard bank student loan. Under the Capitec bank loan, there will be an ‘Apply Now’ option that will begin guiding the student’s application.

The beginning of each application starts with the student having to receive an estimate to qualify for the loan option. If they do qualify, a Capitec consultant will reach out within 48 hours to assist in the completion of the application.
