Any student looking for a student loan might be well aware that FNB is one of a number of banks in South Africa that provides a more-than-adequate student loan option. What students may not know, however, is how to submit an application for this bank loan.

As with any bank loan, the FNB student loan requires that the applicant meet a number of requirements to be eligible for receipt of the loan. These requirements of eligibility include specifications regarding age, citizenship, financial position, and so on. More detailed information regarding these requirements can be found here.

Once the student has familiarized themselves with the eligibility requirements and deems themselves as fitting within those conditions, the next step would be to compile the necessary documentation for application that FNB will have to consider when looking over one’s application. More details on the required documentation can also be found at the aforementioned clickable link.

Once this is completed, the student can then begin attempting to submit their application. To complete the application, the following simple steps are to be followed:

  • Applicant must navigate to to the FNB student loan homepage at: https://www.fnb.co.za/loans/student-loans.html
  • On the page, there will be an option titled “Call me back”, which the student will have to click.
  • After clicking this option, the student will be navigated to the “Call me back form”, in which they would have to fill in personal details about the person who would be responsible for paying/repaying the loan, i.e. full name, ID number, contact number, email address, and so on.
  • Once this form is completed and submitted, the applicant will be contacted by a consultant who will help them navigate the application process from there onwards.

The aim of using this “Call me back” function is to make the application process simpler for both the applicant and the bank. If the applicant is still unsure of anything regarding this loan option, they can find more information by navigating to the FNB student loan homepage linked above.
