What Are The Capitec Student Loan Requirements?

Along with other bank branches, Capitec bank also provides a type of student loan for students who may need it to pursue their studies. The following reveals all the necessities that a student would require to be eligible for a Capitec bank loan.

Although Capitec bank provides a sort of student loan scheme, it differs slightly from other bank loans. Capitec bank instead has a ‘Credit for Education’ option, which functions as a student loan, but with a few differences.

A maximum of R250 000 can be taken out on the loan, and it is offered with a discounted interest rate and operates over an extended term. However, one key difference between this student loan and other bank provided student loans is that the Capitec credit scheme can only be taken out for partnered institutions.

Other requirements that the loan applicant must also adhere to are as follows:

  • Provide a fee invoice from the partner school of the applicant’s choosing
  • Produce a valid South African ID
  • Applicant must be 18 years or older
