The University of South Africa (Unisa) offers a wide range of study programmes catering to students with diverse academic interests.
These programmes are offered at various levels of study, guaranteeing students of all academic backgrounds can obtain a qualification at the institution.
Unisa uses an Open Distance e-Learning (ODeL) style of learning. This means that students don't attend a physical campus when attending classes. This approach to learning and teaching is attractive to many students and has given Unisa the status of the county’s largest university.
Students can enrol in Short Learning Programmes, Undergraduate Qualifications, Honours Degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas, Master's Qualifications And Doctoral Qualifications at Unisa.
Before students can register for an academic programme at university they are required to pay a registration fee. Unisa refers to this as the minimum amount payable on registration.
A minimum fee amount is payable before the closing dates for registration for each module or paper for which you register. If this amount is not paid before the closing date for registration, the university will not be able to process your registration.
Once a student pays the university the minimum amount payable on registration, the university will process their registration. They will then be required to pay the remaining fees for a subject with dates set out by the university.
In cases when the registration fee is being paid by a sponsor, prospective students must ensure their fees are paid before the date determined by Unisa.
The amount of money students are required to pay to Unisa differs depending on their course of study, how long they will study and how many modules they are required to complete to obtain their qualification.
Prospective students may also be required to pay miscellaneous fees when registering. This includes a levy for students in foreign countries and payment for prescribed textbooks and additional study material.
