The Gauteng City Region Academy (GCRA) continues to strive to contribute to promoting skills development in South Africa through many supportive means, including issuing bursaries to deserving students. The bursaries issued cover a number of tertiary student needs.

The GCRA bursary is an important bursary programme within the Gauteng province, aiming to promote skills development to current and future university-goers. The bursary programme sits alongside internships, learnerships, skills programmes, and more student support programmes.

This bursary fund has proven extremely useful as it offers cover for a number of things that would prove necessary for a student to conduct their tertiary studies.

The following necessities are funded by the GCRA bursary:

  • Tuition
  • Accommodation
  • Registration costs
  • Learning materials (laptop, books, and so on)

It must be noted that consideration for this bursary operates within a set of conditions. The most important condition would be that the top three achievers in their final year of high school at all no-fee paying, Learners with Special Educational Needs (LSEN) and Secondary School Improvements Programme (SSIP) participating schools, will automatically be eligible for the bursary and will receive first preference for it.

There are a number of other requirements to be met apart from this one. Students who believe that they meet the requirements for the bursary can navigate to the GCRA official page by clicking here, where they will find the official application guide for the bursary, including all other bursary requirements.
