Being that there is a consistently high application rate for NSFAS bursaries from prospective tertiary students year after year, NSFAS makes a few attempts to uncomplicate the process of application for students. One such means through which they do this, is through digital communication such as email or SMS, which keeps students up to date about any missing documents, missing information, and the status of their applications.

In our current modern age, digital adaptation can be seen everywhere, even when it comes to bursary applications. NSFAS is one example of a bursary fund whose application process has undergone some adapting, with the myNSFAS portal being a more updated way through which students are able submit their applications for funding.

Throughout the application process, students are communicated and kept up to date with, through digital means. It is through these methods, that students also receive feedback on the success of their applications.

When you have been successful with your NSFAS bursary, you will receive an email with a link to sign your NSFAS Bursary Agreement form (NBA) online.

In order to sign the NBA you will need to follow these steps:

  • Click on the link provided in the email.
  • Enter your ID number. Then you will receive a One Time Pin (OTP) through an SMS to your registered cell phone number.
  • Type in the received OTP to continue with the signing of the agreement.

Once you have followed these three steps, you will receive a notification on your screen that the Terms and Conditions have been submitted. That means that you have successfully signed your NSFAS Bursary Agreement form. If you are under the age of 18, your parent or legal guardian should sign the NBA for you.
