This system was introduced in 2024 following the termination of direct payment service providers.
The allowance payment channel for TVET college students remains through their bank accounts.
NSFAS covers tuition, registration, and several allowances, including food, accommodation, and learning materials, for eligible students at TVET colleges and universities.
How to Receive Your June 2025 NSFAS Allowance
Only students with confirmed NSFAS funding and submitted registration data can upload their banking details via the myNSFAS portal. Early registration is encouraged so institutions can send this information to NSFAS.
Steps to Upload Bank Details
- Go to the myNSFAS portal
- Log in with your credentials
- Click “Bank Account Details” under your profile
- Enter your bank details
- Click “Save”
NSFAS urges students to keep their profiles up to date and submit banking information promptly to avoid payment delays. New students are advised to open a bank account as soon as possible.
Colleges should encourage new NSFAS-funded students to open bank accounts at any South African bank.
