The University of Johannesburg (UJ) is one of South Africa’s public universities, with four campuses located in the metropolitan area of the City of Johannesburg.

This university came into existence on 1 January 2005 as the result of a merger between the Rand Afrikaans University, the Technikon Witwatersrand and the Soweto and East Rand campuses of Vista University.

Currently, this university has at least seven faculties that offer courses in Art, Design and Architecture, Business and Economics, Education, Engineering and the Built Environment, Health Sciences, Humanities and Law.
