The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has issued a warning to students about fraudulent websites and social media links that are targeting them for their personal information.
In a statement released on Thursday, NSFAS said that these scams are attempting to extract sensitive information such as login details from students, promising to help them withdraw their allowances from different payment partners.
"This is a scam, and we would like to remind students not to share their personal information with anyone," said NSFAS in the statement.
"NSFAS and its payment partners will never request a student to share their login details, including the password, or transfer money on their behalf. Therefore, any request for such information must be treated with extreme caution and immediately reported to the appropriate authorities."
