While Nsfas student funding applications for the 2023 academic year are currently open, the bursary scheme has recently urged applicants to be cautious when sharing their application details when applying.
This is because the bursary scheme has recently flagged a twitter page that falsely presented itself as that of Nsfas.
While interacting privately with a Nsfas-funded student under the guise of assisting them, the fake page successfully gained access to the student’s myNSFAS account and withdrew R8000 upon receiving the unsuspecting student’s myNSFAS details.
In response, Nsfas called on its student funding recipients and applicants to ensure that they only approach the bursary scheme’s official page regarding any queries, and to always be on the lookout for scammers posing as them.
Applicants be alert of fake online pages posing as NSFAS as it could be scammers trying to collect your personal details. Follow our official pages for factual information.
