NSFAS provides comprehensive bursaries and student loans to deserving students enrolled in approved courses at universities and TVET colleges. NSFAS funding covers tuition and registration fees, as well as several allowances for food, accommodation, and learning materials.
VUT, like other universities in South Africa, will distribute these allowances.
VUT Allowance Disbursement
VUT has confirmed that NSFAS-funded and privately sponsored students will receive book and meal allowances deposited directly into their bank accounts.
Students funded by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) and private donors will receive the books and meal allowances in their personal bank account.
Payments will be processed once student bank details are verified. Students must update their information on the VUT ITS iEnabler platform. Allowances are disbursed after registration is complete and sponsor payments are received.
How to Upload Bank Details
The process for uploading bank details involves four key steps:
- Entering bank details accurately.
- Confirming the bank account is active.
- Uploading a bank confirmation letter no older than three months.
- Uploading a certified copy of your ID.
Security and Important Reminders
Students are urged to keep their ITS/iEnabler login credentials confidential.
Students are advised not to share the ITS/iEnabler login credentials with anyone.
The Financial Aid Office emphasises that allowances will be paid directly to students only. Payments will not be made to third parties, including family or friends.
