The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is offering financial support for your second semester studies, but the application window closes soon. Here's what you need to know:
NSFAS opened applications for TVET college students on 9 July 2024, and they will close on 26 July 2024. That's just 17 days to secure your funding, so don't delay!
NSFAS provides comprehensive bursaries and student loans to deserving learners enrolled in approved courses at universities and TVET colleges. This includes money for tuition and registration fees as well as several allowances for food, accommodation and learning materials.
TVET colleges often have different academic calendars than universities. That's why NSFAS provides separate application periods specifically for TVET students – so you can access funding for your specific term.
How to Apply for NSFAS
The application process is straightforward and can be done entirely online through the myNSFAS portal:
- Visit myNSFAS and click on "myNSFAS."
- Create a myNSFAS account if you don't have one already.
- Select the "APPLY" tab and complete all sections.
