Many may be wondering if they need to receive the Covid-19 vaccination to be eligible for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) bursary. The answer is no, you do not need to be vaccinated.
However, depending on your tertiary institution and the course you wish to study, particularly in the medical field, you may need to be vaccinated.
NSFAS is a government-funded bursary that is available to any South African citizen who meets the following requirements:

Sassa grant recipients are eligible for funding from NSFAS.
As a NSFAS funded student, your registration costs, tuition fees, accommodation, transport, learning materials and living expenses will be covered by the bursary.
Applicants are reminded to submit all required documentation when applying for funding to ensure that their application is processed. If their application is not processed due to outstanding documentation, they will be notified.
