Gauteng City College deems itself a private education provider with the aim of producing educated, industry ready professionals. As a part of this goal, they have collaborated on a few bursary and training programmes to allow for students to be able to apply for a bursary to attend Gauteng City College.

Gauteng City College (GCC) was established in 2012 to tackle the need for more adequate institutions of education in South Africa. Presenting itself as an affordable private institution, the college understands the financial strain that tertiary education places on students.

This is why GCC aims to support and assist students in need of financial aid with bursary applications that are offered by a number of their stakeholders. As of January 2021, GCC’s available bursaries were as follows:

  • Gibela’s Rail Transport Consortium bursary- This bursary is made available to students who are South African citizens and are registered at a recognised South African university or technical college, including GCC. This bursary funds qualifications such as Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Metallurgical, and Industrial Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology, Accounting, and Supply Chain and Logistics Management. Even more qualifications are available for funding at Technical colleges, as is stated on the Gibela website.
  • VW: N6 In-Service Traineeship Programme for 2021- Although not necessarily a bursary, this programme accommodates applicants who have completed their N6 certificate with a high academic record within the three years prior to their application. Through this programme, an applicant could earn the opportunity to act as a temporary employee after which they could get permanent work in the role that they were recruited for.
  • Afrimat: Mechanical Engineering Bursaries- This bursary applies to Mechanical Engineering students who are completing their N1-N6 in Mechanical Engineering. Candidates for this bursary should originally be from Mbombela Municipality, Mpumalanga.

Any students requiring help with these bursary applications are urged to email [email protected].
