The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) uses Celbux to power its NSFAS Wallet system for students who attend TVET colleges.
NSFAS allowances are deposited into the NSFAS Wallet system.
When students want to withdraw their funds from their NSFAS Wallet, they start by creating a cash voucher.
How to create a cash voucher:
- Dial *134*176#.
- Enter your NSFAS Wallet password.
- Select option one, Cash Voucher.
- Enter your amount.
You will then receive your voucher. The next step would be to visit a merchant which has partnered with NSFAS and Celbux and withdraw your allowance.
Present the voucher number to the merchant and then you will be given your allowance in cash.
Celbux has more than 10 000 merchants across South Africa where students may withdraw allowances from their NSFAS Wallet.
These merchants act as ATMs so students do not have to specifically use their allowances at these stores.
