Who Qualifies for an NSFAS Accommodation Allowance?
The NSFAS accommodation allowance is there to support students who need to live near their university or TVET college. If you'll be residing in off-campus housing or college dorms, you may be eligible.
Students can only receive one allowance – either for accommodation or travel, depending on your living situation. Students living with close relatives are not eligible for the accommodation allowance.
Students enrolled in part-time distance learning programs (less than 60 credits) are not eligible for accommodation allowances.
