NSFAS provides comprehensive bursaries and student loans to deserving learners enrolled in approved courses at universities and TVET colleges. This funding covers tuition and registration fees, as well as several allowances for food, accommodation, and learning materials.
Who Qualifies For NSFAS Funding
To qualify, applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria. South African citizens or permanent residents with a combined household income of R350,000 or less per year are eligible for a bursary. Students living with disabilities may qualify if their household income does not exceed R600,000 annually.
Those with a household income between R350,000 and R600,000 may apply for a student loan.
Recipients of South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) grants automatically qualify for NSFAS funding.
