What Does NSFAS Offer?

Who Can Apply?
All South African citizens and permanent residents can apply for NSFAS funding, provided they meet the following income criteria:
- NSFAS Bursary: Household income must not exceed R350,000 per year. For students with disabilities, the income threshold is R600,000.
- NSFAS Loan: Household income can be between R350,000 and R600,000.
How to Apply
TVET walk-in applications are not available for 2025 and only online applications through myNSFAS will be accepted.
- Create a myNSFAS Account: Visit the official NSFAS website and register for an account.
- Complete the Application Form: Provide accurate personal, contact, academic, and financial information.
- Upload Supporting Documents: Submit required documents as specified by NSFAS.
- Submit Your Application: Finalize and submit your application before the deadline.
Grade 12 learners can apply without final exam results.The NSFAS application process is entirely free.
NSFAS 2025 Application Dates For TVET Colleges
For students enrolling in later academic cycles, here are the key application periods:
- Trimester 2: 12 May 2025 - 23 May 2025
- Semester 2: 14 July 2025 - 31 July 2025
- Trimester 3: 8 September 2025 - 11 September 2025
