The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has announced important updates for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college students applying for funding in 2025.
Unlike previous years, NSFAS will not be accepting walk-in applications for TVET colleges in 2025. All TVET college funding applications must be submitted through the myNSFAS portal.
The method of application for all 2025 remaining cycles will remain the same, meaning the students will apply for themselves online through the NSFAS website.
2025 NSFAS TVET College Application Dates
- Trimester 2: Opens on 12 May 2025 and closes on 23 May 2025.
- Semester 2: Opens on 14 July 2025 and closes on 31 July 2025.
- Trimester 3: Opens on 8 September 2025 and closes on 19 September 2025.

How to Apply
- Create a myNSFAS Profile: If you're a new applicant, you'll need to create a profile on the myNSFAS platform.
- Submit Your Application: Once you have a profile, you can submit your funding application online.
Creating a profile is not the same as submitting an application. You must complete the application process to be considered for funding.
NSFAS provides financial aid to deserving South African students enrolled in approved courses at universities and TVET colleges. This aid can cover tuition fees, registration fees, and various allowances for living expenses and study materials.
